El Corazón (2020) is a visual work about short stories and other narratives, exploring the capacity of words to generate images. It also examines how symbolic representation opens new spaces for reflection and awareness of our surroundings. Gestures, shapes, scenes, and landscapes are transformed into tools for resolving and adapting to the universal conflicts inherent in existence.
This photography book by Pascual Arnal reflects on visual archetypes, on the classical references of universal stories, and on the construction of imaginaries. It does so from the present, with a series of 65 images deliberately sought (and found) in landscapes and streets, observing and analyzing human behaviors resulting from such actions. It is composed of a series of chapters that provide only a compiling title for the subsequent images, highlighting chronological aspects of the classic storylines.
